Davey D's Hip Hop Corner is an archive of hip hop identities-in-politics. Davey D is, "multi-media journalist, professor, hip-hop historian, radio show host, dj, activist, speaker, and commentator with a long history of playing and reporting on hip hop, fostering community awareness and involvement, and questioning structures of power. He has gone from underground, to commercial, college radio to Free Speech Radio, all the while reporting and commentating on the specific issues in the context of local and global politics." His radio broadcast Hard Knocks Radio and his webpage have been integral archives of knowledge for this project. The content, aesthetics and politics of knowledge being communicated helped form my critical perspectives on discourse around resistance to coloniality. His archival process creates a valuable resource for hip hop history as well as current socio-political commentary.
