Comparison Between Hybrid and Local Rice

Seeds come from different parts of Nepal and also from India. Hybrid rice such as "ram, 808" are popular. Hybrid rice is planted one seedling at a time with a spacing of 6 -7 inches but the local rice seedlings are planted in bunches of 4/5 in one place and with a much closer spacing. There are several differences between hybrid and local rice. For the same acreage we use less amount of rice seed for the hybrid rice compared to the local; the hybrid rice is not as tasty as the local rice and the hybrid rice is too gooey when cooked.
