With issues of surveillance and privacy there are growing concerns about what people should do to protect themselves from mass surveillance of the government. Living in a digital age, most people use some sort of device to communication, and they typically share private information via multiple channels; by phones, through social media, and etc. This article provides 10 steps people can take to protect themselves from surveillance on their devices. It also provides suggestions on what steps people can take now, such as creating strong passwords using encryption, and turning on two-factor authentication.

This information is very helpful for this project as it provides clear tips on things people can do to protect their information.

This book provides fascinating insight on how people are being tracked and data on personal information is stored. The author also details how the government surveils, using information to discriminate and censor free speech. What will be helpful for this project is his detail of how people give this information away freely. The author also discusses political routes/actions that can be taken to protect data as the future of our privacy is greatly compromised.
