Executive Summary

This study will be an examination of the terror group know as ETA. Their actions have claimed the lives of over 800 people through their history. Their attacks have caused terror among the population of Spain, as they used violence to further the political goal of autonomy for the Basque region. In order to combat them, learn from their actions, and prevent similar events from occurring in the future, it is important to have an understanding of how ETA operated in the past, what their capabilities are today, and how we can move forward in our policy towards them, and terror groups like them. To do this, this study will use media sourced directly from ETA, as well as present what a typical attack from ETA would look like.
