2. The narrator is taking his loss hard. He does not understand what is supposed to be good in life anymore. Is it love? Probably not because as he has experienced love will die. Is it death then? That is morbid thought, to live for death. Or is it living for life itself? The speaker is confused and wants answers, like most would in a time such as this.
