Nebraska

In 1902, Nebraska was a beautiful prairie land. The earth was perfect for crops and you, as a farmer, took full advantage of that. After moving on to your farm, you began planting crops and making a life for yourself. In 1914 World War 1 began and by 1917 President Woodrow Wilson had signed the Selective Service Act requiring all men ages 18 to to join the army unless exempted. Because you’re a farmer you escaped the draft.

During the US’s time in World War 1 from 1917 to 1918 the demand for wheat rose and you were able to make a good profit from your labor. In 1920, however, the price for wheat dropped again since there was no longer demand from the war. In order to make ends meet you planted more wheat to increase your harvest. With your increased production you decided that it would be smart to take out a loan to buy new farm equipment which would speed up the planting and harvesting process while increasing your yields. You are now in debt, but with the way that the crops are growing, you shouldn’t have any trouble paying it off.
