Visual Learning

Visual Learning is the way in which image or platforms design and use is read and perceived. The way in which you perceive something on the internet may not be its direct intention. The way in which someone perceives something that has been said on television can be turned into a meme. This is how things go viral.  There have been many cases throughout the course of the
semester where we have taken a concept and made it into our own. One of the particular memes I looked at and perceived was the
Socially Awesome Penguin. It is is perceived as a smart penguin who knows it all. He is creative, funny, popular and attractive. I created my own meme in return to this concept. The doge meme was another one that we looked into. The doge thinks he is so pretty.  He wants the attention trying to look proper with his legs crossed. The way in which we perceive a meme is what it popular or not. The most popular memes go viral leading to many different interpretations over the internet.

Another meme that I took and perceived as my own was a political meme from the 2012 campaign. This was taken from what Mitt Romney said during a political debate and was interpreted the wrong way. This perception was turned into memes. This meme was created to enhance just the specific line, ”binders of women.” In terms of visual learning, we perceive it as Mitt Romney just having binders of women instead of the story behind it. When someone sees this they will think that he is trying to be offensive toward women. The idea of binders of women in his terms was referring to the workplace and how to get more women these jobs.  It went viral online with Twitter and Facebook pages made about the comment .I created this meme that went along with the same idea. This is a way to interpret what Mitt Romney said and make a joke about it.  The idea of this meme was to show that because of his viral comment he didn't win the election.

When dealing with the process of visual learning, it is important to take into consideration all of the ways in which one can interpret something. It can be taken the right way or in the wrong way. The way in which we have interpreted memes have been used from knowyourmeme.com. The way in which people have interpreted the political meme was because of something that went viral on television. It was not mean to be that way, it was taken out of context.

The following memes are my interpretations based on visual learning.
