Memes Remix

Memes are very interesting in any aspect of pop culture. The two types I chose were political and business. I have found these memes to be very successful and took it upon myself to make my own perception of them. This meme came from the 2012 political campaign between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. This was taken from what Mitt Romney said during a political debate and was interpreted the wrong way. This perception was turned into memes. This meme was created to enhance just the specific line ,"binders of women." In terms of visual learning, we perceive it as Mitt Romney just having binders of women instead of the story behind it. When someone sees this they will think that he is trying to be offensive toward women. The idea of binders of women in his terms was referring to the workplace and how to get more women these jobs. It went viral online with Twitter and Facebook pages made about the comment. I created this meme that went along with the same idea. This is a way to interpret what Mitt Romney said and make a joke about it. The idea of this meme was to show that because of his viral comment he didn't win the election. As far as visual communications go, I designed this to almost completely correlate with the previous meme. The idea is to make fun of something that has been said and make it into my own creation. This is how I have perceived what was being said by Romney.

The Success Kid has gone viral all over the internet. It started out in 2007. It was just a mom taking photos of her son on the beach. She then posted it on her personal Flickr account. In 2008 people started putting photos of this little boy on MySpace and adding their own captions, some inappropriate. This spread onto other websites and over 66,000 memes have been dedicated to this kid. It is now used in advertising. This ad was from 2012. As far as visual learning this kid is very successful in whatever he does. I perceive him as to be a very smart little boy. Therefore, I made this meme to correlate with his attitude. I didn't make fun of the ad, instead, I put a spin off on it. He is a baby so he would be in a crib a lot of the time, and since the ad is for TV channels, I did a play on words. People also sometimes refer to their home as their crib. As far as visual communications is concerned, I designed this to be completely compatible to the original ad. This is just to show how powerful this kid can be even for a TV ad. He may not even understand what the ads meaning is but he is not supposed to be perceived that way.
