For Freire, the continuance of dialog is crucial for his pedagogy to be fulfilled. Ultra Red fails to continue the dialog on the following grounds:

1) The first step of the Ultra Red process indicates that participants are selected. This indicates that the group involved in the inquiry is predetermined and at no point takes on members of the general public (once people become participants in Ultra Red they are, or are in the process of becoming revolutionary leaders).

2) Participants do not engage the people in their inquiry, but only as objects for interview and/or recording.

3) The physical location of Ultra Red's steps 7-9 indicates a limitation of access for the general public.

4) There is no dialog (other than interview) between Ultra Red participants (revolutionary leaders) and the general public (the people), and therefore no way for the leaders to share their liberation and use of the word with the people.
