Interview with Eileen
Eileen Veghte is a Theater major and Music minor at Muhlenberg College, Class of 2015.
What made you audition for civic?
I had just gone abroad to London, and didn't have really any opportunities to have embodied physical performance. The program was more focused on theater scholarship. So when I returned to school, I was yearning to be in a show. I have always wanted to do 'Urinetown' and Civic was holding auditions for it so I decided to go and give it a shot. I have also heard great things about working for Civic from Morgan Reilly.
What was it like working at civic theater?
I have now done two shows with Civic. I was ensemble in 'Urinetown' and this fall I had the incredible opportunity to play Elizabeth Benning in 'Young Frankenstein.' Both of these experiences were incredible. The director William Sanders, is one of the best directors I have had the pleasure of working with. He knows how to work with just about anyone, and is very in tune with his actors. The process at Civic is always intense because of the limited rehearsal process; however, I always looked forward to rehearsals because everyone is so warm, focused, but also hilarious!
