Hadi Partovi

Hadi Partovi has had computers influence his life.  He stated that he and his twin received their first computer with nothing installed other than an operating system, so both of them had to learn from a manual how to code.

Hadi Partovi is an investor who has spent a great deal of time working with start-up companies.  He began, though, by working with Microsoft on Internet Explorer; his tenure began after his 1990 graduation from Harvard.  After he left, he founded a voice recognition technology company called Tellme Networks, which was later acquired by Microsoft.  Hadi spent his last year working for Microsoft as a manager for MSN.com.

Code.org is not the only thing that Hadi has cofounded with his twin brother.  The Partovi twins also founded iLike, which keyed into your iTunes and Windows Media Player library to recommend music for you.  iLike was later acquired by MySpace, and the two served as high-level executives for MySpace.

Hadi began working for a number of companies as special advisors.  These companies included Facebook, Dropbox, and others ("Hadi Partovi").

On February 26, 2013, Hadi launched Code.org.  A nine-minute movie describing the necessities of coding was released to celebrate the event.
