Gender,Youth Sexuality as a commodity: Taiwan

This paper focus on the period from the early 90s to the present mainly focused on Taiwan. I try to answer how globalization affects youth sexualities among teenage girls in Taiwan and how it contributes to the global flow of youth as a commodity. By giving various examples I am going to tackle this question by breaking it down into pages:

Firstly, an in depth look into globalization and how it is a factor in disturbing the cultural homogeneity of a place.

Secondly, I will look into precarious work and point out how economy affects work choices and this links to enjo kosai.

Thirdly, sexuality and its link to globalization in Taiwan in this period.Gender itself as a problem faced by these girls

Fourthly, due to media flows the youth start to modify the body. The body is also modified as a result of idol culture and that is a factor in defining teenage girls’ sexualities

Fifthly, Flow between Taiwan’s neighbors specifically Japan and Korea and how national pride plays a part in this.

Conclusion and tie everything together.
