Kocsis and Czibor, along with the famous Aranycsapat or Golden football team, were not anxious to return home to Hungary after the 1956 Revolution. After losing a game at the Melbourne Olympics, the Golden Team completed a competitive tour around South America. They most likely were trying to raise funds in order to stay abroad permanently. Kocsis and Czibor signed with Barca in Fascist Spain, one of the Eastern bloc's foremost enemy countries.
