Arthur Mizener - biography - 1951 - p. 62, 65
Arthur Mizener’s was the first biography of the F. Scott Fitzgerald, who died in 1940, to be published; it addressed matters such as Fitzgerald’s alcoholism and the struggles that his wife, Zelda, faced against schizophrenia. Some friends of the Fitzgeralds claimed that it sensationalized these topics to an unfair and unflattering degree. Mizener was an English professor and a respected literary critic.
