This book is the eighth volume in the Danny Dunn series co-created by Raymond Abrashkin and Jay Williams. Danny is an intelligent and independent boy with a keen interest in science; the novels relate his various adventures, many of which stem from the inventions of his mentor, Professor Bullfinch, for whom Danny’s mother works as a housekeeper. In Danny Dunn, Time Traveler, Danny and two friends encounter the professor’s time machine, which sends them back to colonial America. They meet Benjamin Franklin and, with his help, are finally able to return to the present.
