A Child's Garden of Verses

Robert Louis Stevenson - poems - 1885 - p. 160

This collection of poetry by Robert Louis Stevenson features more than 60 poems and has been illustrated by numerous artists in different editions over the years. The full text is available for free online.

A native of Scotland and an avid traveler, Stevenson wrote novels, poetry, and nonfiction accounts of his many excursions. His relationship with his parents was often strained, as they disapproved of his decision to pursue writing over other, more practical vocations. Though successful as an author, he died at age 44 of what is believed to have been a cerebral hemorrhage.
