Siege of Gaza
The Siege of Gaza occurred in 332 BC. Using the siege engines employed at Tyre, Alexander the Great was able to take the city of Gaza after three unsuccessful times. His forces built mounds to enter over the walls. The Gazans fought very tough and gave Alexander the Great great trouble. The capture of Gaza allowed for no interruption for Alexander the Great's conquest into Egypt. The success opened up Egypt to Alexander the Great.
