The squadron was a reinforced squadron, consisting of three swarms of long-distance reconnaissance aircraft and a swarm of close-range reconnaissance aircraft, each with six aircraft. This unit successfully used Heinkel He 45Bs, Heinkel He 70Es, and Heinkel He 70Fs; Dornier Do 17Es, Dornier Do 17Fs and Dornier Do 17Ps and finally Henschel Hs 126 [1].
