Hello!

Archives are for everyone. But, unfortunately, not everyone knows that. It can be intimidating to visit and learn how to utilize our collections. Yet, as members of the UCR community, we all share a connection to this campus and region, and especially to icons like Scotty the Bear.

We hope that the Scotty Sticker Competition can be one way that we welcome more people to utilize the archive and its holdings. Archives are for everyone; not just researchers, but also artists, and everyone in between.

This competition and zine were designed to complement our annual Inland Empire Archives Fair, where we recognize the rich history of the IE region and all its communities. We hope to make this an annual tradition. Have ideas for next year’s theme? Contact us as specialcollections@ucr.edu.
