Time Magazine Rosie

The cover of Time Magazine from 2007 shows a young woman with long brown hair wearing a red cap and a blue t-shirt. She is listening to an iPod, and flexing her arm in the style of Rosie the Riveter. Her forearm has a tattoo on it, and a bracelet.

The image represents one of the ways in which Rosie the Riveter is being used to inspire a call to action.
The Rosie-inspired image is being used to support a news piece on volunteerism in the 21st century.  The cover story is "The Case for National Service" and makes the argument that volunteers are helping "bind America together" as America faces issues such as education, health insurance, and the economy, and that the U.S. and the government should renew a commitment to national service.
