Umair - “Okay so who did you call?’
Shaikh Mohammad - My mom
Umair - why did you call and not write?
Shaikh Mohammad - call is quicker.
Umair - Ahan. It is quicker.
Shaikh Mohammad - Just one minute.
Umair - He called his mom and the reason he made a phone call because the call is quicker.
Shaikh Mohammad - sudden.
Umair - would you like to tell us something about your mom?
Shaikh Mohammad - who?
Umair - would you like to tell us something about your mom?
Shaikh Mohammad - what?
Umair - Do you want to tell her something about your mom?
Shaikh Mohammad - *laughs* what do you want me to to tell you about my mom?
Umair - why did you choose her?
Shaikh Mohammad - because I love her the most. When you talked to me, the thought of my mom popped into my head. That is why I called her.
Umair - Right. And who did you not call her instead of her? I mean to say, who could you have called but you didn’t?
Shaikh Mohammad - Ummm… my sister is there, my aunt,
Umair - Okay. Your sister, your aunt.
Shaikh Mohammad - My brother.
Umair - Your brother.
Shaikh Mohammad - I could have even called my friends
Umair - Ahaan. So why are you away from them?
Shaikh Mohammad - It is a compulsion. I have to earn some money here. I’m a poor man.
Umair - Ahaan.
Shaikh Mohammad - So i came here to earn money. you know a person comes to the UAE. To earn money
Umair - Yes, absolutely. And where did you call?
Shaikh Mohammad - Kerela india
Umair - Kerela, India. Okay. And, would you like to tell us something about yourself? Who are you and what do you do?
Shaikh Mohammad - me? My name is [ _______ ]. Full name - Shaikh Muhammad [ _______ ]. I’m a driver here. I work as a driver with a Pakistani engineer.
Umair - Okay. Okay.
Shaikh Mohammad - And I have a room here.
Umair - Oh so you live nearby?
Shaikh Mohammad - yes. I live here
Umair - Madinat Zayed?
Shaikh Mohammad - Yes.
Umair - Is there a living space in this building?
Shaikh Mohammad - No, not exactly here. There is a building of flats nearby.
Umair - Okay.
Shaikh Mohammad - My friends and all live there as well
Umair - Okay. Umm.. And how do you feel about being separated from your mom? How do you miss her?
Shaikh Mohammad - I do miss her sometimes. *laughs* All the time too. Whenever I think of her i miss her. But what can I do? Fate has bought me here.
*both laugh*
