Dali wrote of painting as “…an instantaneous color photography done by hand…” and in the same vein, addressed his work as hand-painted dream photographs (HSU Library Art) . To this effect, his works, La Persistencia De La Memoria inclusive, were characterized by an exactitude similar to that of the Renaissance masters. He captured details in his work with an ‘… imperialist fury of precision…’, quite like the camera, hence the reference to his paintings as photographs. I consider this technique a form of technology employed in La persistencia de la memoria.
