Using CSS3’s multi-column rule, the text will auto form into either a single column or a two column layout. The benefit of this system is that the text will flow from one page to the next and can change size to accommodate reader preferences or device. A simple script will track the number of paragraphs, words, and characters in each chapter. This will allow the reader to bookmark, add notes or highlight text regardless of text size. This will also serve to citing the text. For text added to the digital book that already exits in printed form, the author has a unique admin tool that allows them the add beginning and end-points within the text where they can tag where a page from the original publication begins and ends. When the reader wants to cite the original text, all they need to do is click on a word or paragraph and click the select icon. It will automatically determine what page you are on in the original printed version, as well as paragraph number and word number.
