American Jewish Thought and the Sepulveda Pass

The Jewish institutions that line the Sepulveda Pass reflect (and/or amplify) a particular type of Jewish thinking common in the twentieth century.  It is an approach to Judaism and Jewish life focused on ideals such as social justice, Jewish education as a key to Jewish survival, and a celebration of ethnic pluralism.  The pages on this path will help to explain, more clearly, the influences, concepts, and ideas that help make the pass a center of mainstream American Jewish thinking and observance.
