Teatro Las Máscaras - 3058 SW 8th Street, Miami, Florida
Salvador Ugarte and Alfonso Cremata opened their space February 1969 with the comedy Susana quiere ser decente. It had 78 seats. They advertised themselves as the first sala-teatro in Miami, and they were Miami’s Spanish theater success story from this early period. Although they started producing serious dramas, they soon discovered the formula that would allow them to survive: produce popular light comedies to finance other plays.
In 1972, a letter sent to members explained that the space had ben remodeled remodeled. By October 1973 they had to move to a larger space.
