Nessah Synagogue: Services

Nessah provides many services to the community ranging from Shabbat services to Torah classes. According to the congregation's website “Nessah Educational, and Cultural Center offers three weekly Torah classes, daily prayer services, thought provoking lectures, and programs open to all who wish to attend. In addition, Nessah serves as an anchor in the Iranian Jewish community, offering various services, classes, and counseling geared towards family, and helping to work through some of life’s stresses.” Nessah also provides three different Shabbat services. The services include a teen minyan, a minyan which is in Hebrew and Farsi, and another which is in Hebrew and English.

Nessah also offers several other unique services aimed at bringing individuals back to their Jewish roots. One of these services is called Nessah Israel Young Professionals. According to Nessah’s website, this program is designed to “unite the young Jewish community, and to bring them closer to their Jewish roots.”

Nessah also offers Hebrew school and nursery school services to the community. The Hebrew school program is for students between 2nd to 8th grade, and teaches them how to read, write, and speak Hebrew. It also teaches students the values and traditions of Judaism. The nursery school gives young children the “opportunity to observe, and participate in Jewish customs, rituals, and holiday observances, so that they can develop their identities as Jews” (Nessah Synagogue website).
