This Is Your Life
In 1953, the TV entertainment series This Is Your Life profiled Hanna Kohner, offering what is perhaps the first instance of telling a Holocaust survivor's life story to Americans in this medium. In contrast to videotaped interviews with Holocaust survivors recorded in recent decades, This Is Your Life tells Hanna Kohner’s story to her, while she says relatively little herself. The series went on to profile the lives of several other Holocaust survivors or rescuers of Jewish victims of Nazi persecution in the ensuing years.
