Whoever Peter Bourlotos was, I don't doubt that my dad assaulted him. Legends of Thomas J. Wingate's violence circulated throughout my youth, which explains why I felt so scared of him. It wasn't a good idea to piss my father off, but apparently this gentleman did. 

I suspect my dad did whatever he could to avoid charges here. He didn't want to go back to jail. He was a father by then (my brother Tom was born in 1957) and trying, so it seems / so I imagine, to get his life together. 

Maybe his bosses intervened on his behalf. Who knows?

Even though they spelled the name of the company wrong, it's an ominous address for me considering how my entire family's life will blow apart because of events that happened at the J.P. Patti & Sons roofing company of Paterson, NJ.
