Forum Theatre
Forum Theatre is a TO technique used to zoom out and look at systemic issues affecting various communities. Some of the issues we looked at are:
- Community expecting you to be the same person when you get out that you were when you went in.
- Living back in the same environment that with cultural norms that include violence.
- How people relate to you differently depending on how you look/are perceived.
- Problems partners’ families not accepting you or your relationship. Fighting the stigma of being a former lifer.
- Finding yourself in relationship where your freedom is threatened and unable to get out.
- Relationships between fathers and sons.
