He has co-edited three volumes—Out in Culture: Gay, Lesbian, and Queer Essays on Popular Culture; Cinema, Law, and the State in Asia; and The International Film Musical—and published essays on topics including Hindi film songs, Gary Cooper in the 1930s, Western theme songs, the films noir of Jacques Tourneur, and sound in post-9/11 films.
