Dr. Samuel Hazo

Dr. Samuel Hazo taught at Duquesne for over thirty years after receiving his Master's degree from the institution. He also served as Associate Dean for the College of Arts and Sciences from 1961 to 1966. Outside of academia, Dr. Hazo is an accomplished writer. He currently holds the title of McAnulty Distinguished Professor of English Emeritus and spent a decade as Pennsylvania's state poet—the first and only person to hold that title.
