Hypnosis

The introduction to hypnosis stems from a memory disorder, which “involves a sudden memory loss typically due to some sort of psychological trauma (rather than a brain damage or disease)” (Shenefelt 2017). Hypnosis figure 4 explains hypnosis better for the readers, which continues to help the public understand the positive. Familiar with the procedure subjects are placed in a completely calm state where they can express feelings of openness and recollection. This technique, “reflects a temporary inability to retrieve information that is safely stored in memory” (Shenefelt 2017). These practices are set in place to help one forget a traumatic event or an event that has caused distress to the subject. In some cases, the procedure is used to help subject evaluate their own lives in a positive manner. Hypnosis has been used in ways to reflect positive on the subject leaving them feeling more relaxed and at peace with oneself.  The practice is composed of no trickery, and is solely based on one’s behavior and experiences, which is what influences on the brain activity.
Hypnosis can be stimulated through pressure or massages, that is asked to be performed to one’s self. Hypnosis image 3 expresses the help of inner calmness the hypnosis helps you achieve can you gain so much more to life then expected. These acts are to be as small as asking to hold your own hands tightly, or the pressure to use the imagination to replicate a certain taste or smell. A study published by Charcot and Richer, “obtained graphic recordings of muscular activity that appeared to be normal during the waking state but contracted during hypnosis” (Alvarado 2009). The technique of hypnosis can be compared to the practice meditation, because the experience one receives from the process is completely up to them. The process can only be helpful is one is willing to trust the process and be completely open to the experience no matter how foolish one may look. The goal is to, “maintain adequate rest using relaxation and breathing techniques to calm the sympathetic nervous system” (Swift 2016). The idea is to create a stress-free environment anywhere, which allows participants to face fears or use laughter to ease the situation. This allows for the process to be more fun and relaxing than for it to be uncomfortable or distressful to the subject. Hypnosis is used to help one focus on one event that is troubling, so that executing the problem is clearer for the subject.
The mention on hypnosis is normally categorized as unhelpful and extensive, but “hypnosis can reduce suffering, promote healing, or help the subject alter a destructive behavior pattern” (Swift 2016). The procedure is never seen to promote self-awareness, which happens to mainly be the reason one partakes in hypnosis. Hypnosis has reported to help decrease anxiety and behavioral distress in both adults and in children. Hypnosis is being used in dermatology, which include “reducing discomfort for itching or skin pain, healing of skin disorders, and reframing cognitive and emotional dysfunctional patterns related to skin disorders” (Swift 2016). Hypnosis figure 1 and 2 show the public how a standard hypnosis treatment looks like, this image helps people understand that hypnosis is not a joke it is a seriously performed treatment. What people should focus on is the healing process that hypnosis allows one to gain. Hypnosis is being used to help treat with migraines, the process requires the subject to be still and empty the mind. This helps the subject internalize an event in life that needs more time to be evaluated and controlled in a peaceful environment.
Many people do not understand the relief that hypnosis can cause, because for so long the reputation attached to the name has been tarnished. These names for the process such as being fake or a way to make people do foolish things. Therefore, when asked to experience hypnosis for themselves the value gets lost. When asked about hypnosis one assumes that subjects are acting and that it is equivalent to a magic act. These are the type of negative associations attached to hypnosis, which is why it is was a dramatic representation of the human subject. Hypnosis has been proven to leave subjects with feels of relaxation and the feeling of being centered. In many cases people often argue that hypnosis is a healthy way of breaking free from the social normality’s. Hypnosis is something that cannot be forced, some argue that the stimulation exercise done in the beginning before the process starts, can determine who is suitable for the process. When the procedure is offered to subjects who can openly experience hypnosis, this where positive results of the unknown can appear.
