So I tried to stay,
but the air was thick with chemical smells,
the smell of human waste, the acrid chemical cleaners to cover it up,
the smell of an atmosphere of resignation,
and I couldn't breathe,
and the people couldn't talk to me, couldn't make any sense,
and I felt like I was losing my mind,
and finally I was nauseous, and could barely move.
Then I realized,
what I was doing,
when my lover, Cora, said to me,
“Roja, I feel like you're always trying to get me to stay”.
I had to leave,
and go into the stars,
and find a new planet,
in a new universe,
and let my planet die,
and live my own life.
