Ice: A few scientists knew

A few scientists knew,
methane was the problem.
Once the polar caps of our planet melted,
the sun's rays no longer reflected,
the spiral began,
methane bubbled up from the waters.
It only took a few years,
the colonizers' civilizations
the order that had ravaged and endangered the planet
was destabilized, attacked, shrank, fell,
and the majority,
who knew through the eons that
connection with the planet, with the self,
communication channels to gods, spirits and souls
were more important
than cell phones and wifi.
The majority began to organize the planet again,
in their own fractal, local ways,
connecting across translocalities with respect and love,
in a time of fragility,
and the closeness of death.
