Go to the Ice Planet

There were 25,000 of us who came to this planet,
even though 250,000 signed up.
Then a few hundred came on government shuttles and rockets
and a few years later, a few hundred more came on pirate ships.
We gave up so much, that we couldn't carry with us,
friends, lovers,
photos of our travels and our families,
homes, pets, parks
oceans we were held by,
rooms we cherished and decorated,
skies we loved with our eyes.
