Our Dark Materials: Rediscovering an Egyptian Collection

Materials

This page presents Our Dark Materials organized by material, reflecting the organization of the physical display.

Student curators began their work with the artifacts themselves, first asking: What is it made of? This basic question launched an exploration of substances, makers, and meanings. To reflect this research methodology, the physical exhibit was organized by material type into four cases: stone, ceramic, metal, and mixed media.

Each artifact resource page is titled with a short, descriptive artifact name followed in parentheses by the item's unique identifier, which we call an Object ID. If you are interested in contacting us about any item in our collections, please reference its Object ID. Object ID may also be used to search for items on our Collections Online.
