Personal Biography
Hello, my name is Gavin Anderson. I am currently a student at Arkansas State University majoring in History. The areas in which I put the most of my personal research into is the more obscure and darker parts of history along with historical pop culture. What makes me different from other people that come from my field of study is the fact that I have unorthodox and creative ways at researching and relating History and the Humanities in general. This is why I am an advocate for Digital Humanities. With the world depending on the internet to convey and share information, those in the Humanities should keep up with the times by expanding the methods and means in which subjects within the field can be observed and learned from. As of right now, Digital Humanities remains somewhat of an outsider in the academic field even though it consistently provides valuable insights into the Humanities. In the same vein, I consider myself somewhat of an outsider compared to most others in my field of study and have chosen to embrace the image since there will always need to be someone who thinks outside the normal scope and doesn't mind investing time into subjects others choose not to.
