Campus Climate

Climate, to me, signifies the overwhelming feeling on campus, whether it be in regard to lesbians or to the new food in the dining hall. This section is the product of an intentional gathering of information in response to a particular question asked to each participant: "What was it like to be LGBT at Bryn Mawr?" These are their overwhelmingly diverse answers.

For most of the pages on this path, I decided to excerpt a portion of my narrator's voices. Individually, the quotations show interpretations of campus climate during their lives as students. They are purposely fragmented because of the fragmented nature of LGBT experiences at Bryn Mawr College.

I intentionally subtitled this project "A Multi-Linear History of LGBT Experiences at Bryn Mawr College," not "The LGBT History of Bryn Mawr College" because of my deep commitment to portraying these multiple, divergent experiences as equally valuable slices of history.
