With the new year just starting, it is time for fresh beginnings, new resolutions, and of course new movies that will mark the year. Actress Lana Lourdes is a real movie fanatic, constantly following new releases. Here are her predictions of the movies that will make the biggest impact in 2016. Although 2015 was a year of great movies, it seems that 2016 is a lot more promising. And as more and more franchises are making their way into the entertainment industry, probably we are going to see some awesome movie flicks sooner than we anticipated. In case you haven't noticed, superhero movies have been quite popular over the past couple years, collecting big earnings from the box office. Lana’s prediction is they’re only going to get bigger in 2016.

Just when we thought we really had enough of them on the big screen, here comes another Marvel hero to fight the evil. But before making any permanent judgment, it is better you look at the "red band" uncensored trailer and you will understand why this film is one of the most anticipated in Lana Lourdes list. Although it is an original character in the Marvel universe, this film is a little bit different then all the others. You know how all these super-heroes are always dead serious? Well, this one is not. He is fighting villains from pure fun and acts like a gangster from Compton, dressed in tight, red polyester. Not to spoil the fun, it is better you see it, and then you’ll believe it. The film is directed by Tim Miller, and starring Ryan Reynolds, who has finally fulfilled his long-standing desire to put on a red suit.

Hail Cesar is another great film that we will be able to watch in a short time. Its release is scheduled for February. This movie comes out of the Coen Brothers kitchen, and tells the story of Hollywood’s golden era. Taken from past experience, Hail Caesar will bring some great comedy and a bundle of well-known names. Josh Brolin is the director of a major studio who just goes crazy when his biggest star, played by Goerge Clooney, gets kidnapped by someone from the future. Also starring are Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Scarlett Johansson, Ralph Fiennes, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. Only the Coen brothers can gather such a group.

As a big fan of animated films, Lana Lourdes couldn’t complete the list without “Finding Dory”. This beautiful film of course comes from the Disney / Pixar workshop. Twelve years after the motley crew of marine creatures went on an exciting adventure to find the fish named Nemo, we get another underwater journey of a similar nature. Director Andrew Stanton returns on the big door and creates a story that revolves around the fish named Dory who suffers from amnesia. Ellen DeGeneres lands her voice for the role of Dory. Judging by the success of the original, which melted everyone’s hearts, even those made of steel, this film is ought to experience standing ovations.
