Visnjic: Coconut Oil the Perfect Ingredient for Weight Loss

Coconut oil is one of the healthiest oil in the world, which, along its other benefits, helps with weight loss. According to Ivana Visnjic, coconut oil contains a unique combination of fatty acids and medium-chain triglycerides, which have a strong impact on the metabolism. Faster functioning of the metabolism helps the body burn more calories at a standstill.

A large number of studies have shown that regular consumption of coconut oil can significantly help lose weight, and is particularly effective in eliminating fat deposits in the abdomen. Coconut oil is very different from other oils used in diet. While most oils contain predominantly long-chain fatty acids, coconut oil is almost entirely made up of only of medium-chain fatty acids. They are degraded in the body completely different from long-chain fat. The liver transforms medium-chain fats directly into energy. As Visnjic further explains on her Colostate blog, what makes this oil so special is that it doesn’t turn them into body fat, and it doesn’t retain them as reserves in the form of body fat. This burning of body fat, with the help of coconut oil, is much more effective than calorie consumption of other fats.

One study found that using 15-30 grams or 1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil per day, leads to a 5% higher consumption of calories or 120 calories per day. This was confirmed by several other studies. Coconut oil reduces appetite. As Ivana Visnjic states on her Facebook, by using coconut oil, you tend to eat less, without any special effort. Numerous studies have shown that people who regularly consume coconut oil have decreased appetite, and automatically have fewer calories in their body.

Another proof of its powers is the fact countries that consume high amounts of coconut and coconut oil in their diets like India, Philippines, and the Pacific Islands have fewer cases of heart disease and obesity. This weight loss secret already made its way to supermodels and celebrities, and it the past couple of years its popularity has significantly increased, making it one of the top sold products in the world.
