When Alexander returns from war he is greeted by his wife, Eliza. She explains that she is expecting. Although she knows he must keep fighting, she begs that he stay alive. Hamilton explains that he must keep fighting to create his legacy and give her a good life. Eliza respects his choices, but tells him she is happy.

It is a short song, but the audience is witness to a nice moment between the lovers. Not to mention it gives Alexander a new motivation for fighting. "Look" is the most used words because it is found in Eliza's often repeated phrase "Look around, look around". In "The Schuyler Sisters” she used this phrase in relation to looking around at the amazement of the city, whereas now she is telling Alexander to notice the world that the two of them have created; it is not as bad as he thinks it is. Even short songs like this allow the audience to fall in love with "Eliza" and "Hamilton" together as a couple. Alexander is constantly looking for the next risk that will get him his goals, but Eliza acts as the warning of "don't" because it might not be safe and he needs to stay "alive". Audience members are able to relate this risky choice of having the one person in life that grounds them. Some days I am the dreamer like Hamilton and other days I am reminding people to be okay like Eliza. It is a feeling that people understand. Plus it is just a cute, little, lovey song!
