Scalar 2 User's Guide

Global visualizations

Scalar's global visualizations are located under the Visualize item in the compass menu in the top left corner of the header. While the visualization layouts that can be applied to pages generally only show content linked to those specific pages, Scalar's global visualizations show content across an entire book. In addition, their content can also be customized via three drop-down menus in the top left of the Visualization dialog. Here's what those menus do:

Content. The first menu selects the baseline set of content to be visualized. Options include "All content," "Current page," "All paths," "Table of contents," etc.

Relationships. The second menu determines which relationships of the baseline content will be visualized. Options include "All relationships," "No relationships," and "Parents and children" (which restricts relationships to those matching the type of the baseline content; i.e. path relationships for paths, tag relationships for tags, etc.).

Format. The third menu determines the format in which the visualization will be displayed. Options include "Grid," "Radial," "Tree," and "Force-directed".
