Styling a Page

This section describes functionality in Scalar's page editor, which is accessed by clicking the "New" button (if creating new content) or the "Edit" button (if editing existing content) at the bottom of the page.

Clicking open the "Style" link in the page editor reveals a host of options for customizing the look and feel (and even the sound) of your page.

Thumbnail. You can select any image in your book as the thumbnail image for the page--doing so currently has no visible effect within Scalar, but may in the future.

Color. Associates a color with the page. If the page is a path, then this color will be seen in the path navigation bar and various other places in Scalar.

Background image. You can select any image in your book to serve as the background image for the page. If the page is a path, the same image will also be applied automatically to all pages in the path.

Custom CSS style. Allows custom CSS code to be applied to this page to alter its look and feel. If the page is a path, the same CSS will also be applied automatically to all pages in the path.

Custom Javascript. Allows custom Javascript code to be added to the page. If the page is a path, the same code will also be applied automatically to all pages in the path.

Background audio. You can select any audio file in your book to be played as background audio while the user is on the page (an audio player will be embedded at the bottom of the page so the audio can be turned off by the user).
