Expressing gratitude

This counter hegemonic cultural production would not have taken place without the love, support, learning, growing and creating facilitated by relationships both real and imagined. Those scholars who have challenged me through a process of transformational love in critique, whose work reaches across time and is still applicable to the current struggles toward reclaiming our humanity. I am grateful for elders whose experiential knowledge of decolonizing practices inform the way I interact with bodies in space. The knowledge shared and gained would not have been possible without the thousands of counter hegemonic cultural producers I come into contact with and the relationships formed from those connections.

There are individuals whose work and support I would like to publicly acknowledge, because without them, this project would have remained an idea, a fragmentation of myself that would have remained displaced from the understanding of how resistance to hegemony takes place in our very flesh. In an attempt to remain true to my resistance research, I have included some of my poetics in an attempt to cultivate spaces of vulnerability that are central to understanding diasporic expressions and counter hegemonic resistance through cultural production.
