Multi-Modal Composition
Multi-Modal Composition is the way in which a multiple amount of media is used together. It is the way in which text, images, and sound come together to enhance the author's message. This is the way to create a common language. There are five components when it comes to multi-modal composition. They are visual, linguistic, oral, gestural, and spatial. Visual is what you see. Linguistic is the text that you produce. Oral is the audio in which is spoken. Gestural is ones facial expressions. Finally, spatial is the design of it.
Throughout the course of the semester, we have created different projects. These projects take these concepts into consideration when they are created. We were taught to explore these concepts to advance on digital writing skills. It makes you think outside of an ordinary newspaper or magazine and takes it into the digital world. This includes things like Youtube videos, and online blogging sites. We learned about online platforms such as Wordpress, and Prezi. These platforms allowed us to use a multi amount of media in order to tell the right story. This was used throughout the use of videos, visual aids, and text.
