Beyond the "Muhlen-bubble"
This section of our book serves to explore Muhlenberg's changing relationships with the surrounding community, Allentown, and the nation. We interviewed Mike Bruckner (Vice President of Public Relation), Dean Green (Dean of Students), Roberta Meek (Media & Communication and History Professor), and Susan Clemens (History Professor), and gained insight about how our college's interactions outside of the "bubble" have changed over the past few decades.
Exploring Muhlenberg's evolving relationships with outside entities in extremely important, especially if we want to change the way that our students view the community, and vice versa. Due to the limited time we had to complete this project, we were confined to interviewing those who worked directly on campus. Moving forward, we hope that future RJ Fellows will continue with this project by interviewing leaders, business owners, and teachers within the community, as well as Muhlenberg alumni and current students.
