Hit or Miss: Student Safety at Case Western Reserve University

Why is this a problem?

Case Western Reserve University is a fantastic school with nationally ranked programs and facilities, including some of the highest ranked medical, nursing, and engineering schools in the country.

The elevated crime at Case is an issue for students as well as staff. A safe learning environment is essential for students to learn and thrive in. Problems with safety are inevitable, however, students at Case Western Reserve University are continually experiencing assaults and attacks, even in response to new measures taken to prevent them. Administration continually creates low quality and faulty resolutions that are ineffective, and as a result, Case Western Reserve students experience higher attacks than normal.

No one is willing to risk their life, belongings, and money to go to a school. Current students are in danger and at risk for transferring, future prospective students will be turned away, and as a result applications and student attendance will drop.

If Case Western wants the university and it's students to maintain its renowned success, it must fix this problem.
