Final Video Essay - The Road & Childhood

Postapocalyptic Childhood in Cormac McCarthy's The Road

Here is my final version of my video for Cormac McCarthy's bleak and astounding work of art, The Road. I focused mainly on the representation of the son's childhood, and whether McCarthy was saying that the essence of childhood was revealed by the dire circumstances, or if it were truly transformed. I mainly focus on methods of joy and the storytelling which the father uses to pass on certain ideas to the son, such as the reoccurring theme of good guys and bad guys.
