Spitzer & LaVallee Response

Profs. LaVallee and Spitzer did not sit idly by while their reputations and careers were threatened. After an editorial printed in the Daily Barometer saying they would print anything the professors sent in, the professors took the editors up on their offer. They released a statement right off the bat, welcoming those who would jump to their defense. They later released a preemptive statement to President Strand's address to the academic staff. More misunderstandings and/or snubs occur... read them for yourself!

The editors respond to this as well: “Anyone claiming that what a faculty member has to say merits equal space with what the president of a state university has to say better take a look at himself. His importance has been too highly stressed.”
