Mic check! Let's get ready to march!

This is the Meeting Point

This project is a digital demonstration of and on the theme "We Are All Children of Algeria," a project created for the NEH-Vectors Summer  Institute "Broadening the Digital Humanities" at UCHRI in 2010. I explain why you might want to follow the project in the video.

The project can be followed along the main route of the demonstration, or you can explore the feeder marches, and either get stop there or end up back with the main crowd.

The Way Ahead

From here, you can follow the main route of the demonstration, color-coded green in the header. That is a "path" you can follow to the platform. Here "platform" means the destination of the march but I like the double-meaning in digital technology.

You can also: join feeder marches (other "paths," accessible via the paths menu under the "Index" heading at left), walk randomly (pick the  "Explore" heading), make a comment, start a discussion, back-track and
get involved in the activities along the way.

There's a lot of video to  watch. Some from feature films, some from newsreels, guerrilla documentary and so on. Here's some more ideas on the Scalar format. To make use of the multi-media format, I've make some YouTube style to camera videos, inspired by Alex Juhasz's Learning from YouTube project. So a full "read" of this project would take some time. It's not about getting to the end, this is not a video game. It's about who  you want to be, not as a consumer, but as a citizen: for we are all  citizens of the International.

You can get background to the project here.
